Beijing Trip, Part 3

Dad and Mom came back to Beijing after a day to visit customer at Tien Jin. They climbed the Great Wall on July 22nd. Well, they did climbed, only only a very small part of the long long Great Wall. Dad jokingly said they climbed maybe less than 1/100 of the entire structure.

They called Sandy at 9 am in the morning saying that they had come down from climbing the Great Wall as it was very hot. They were enjoying their coffee already. Actually they went there very early to see the solar eclipse as it started at 8:20 am.

Dad said he was really amazed at the magnificant sight of the winding Great Wall.

It said "You are not a Brave Man if you have not been to Great Wall"

The banner at the back of Mom said "The World's Number One Gate"

They visited I-Her-Yuan afterwards. The garden was the private garden of famed Empress.

The bridge is called "Seventeen Hole Bridge", how many can you count from the picture below?

Dad and Mom fully enjoyed their Beijing trip this time. They were told by locals that the sights they visited are for normal first time tourists, there are many other less famous but more beautiful and fun places to see. Dad and Mom said they were going again.......

Beijing Trip, Part 2

Dad had arranged customer's visit on July 20th, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. After leaving the customer about 11 am, Dad and Mom took the time to see the Nest and the Water Cubic which were built for the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing.

Dad took a photo outside the dinner restaurant. The restaurant is inside the Beijing office of the autonomy region of Hsin Chiang.

Beijing Trip, Part I

Dad went on a business trip to PRC from July 18th to July 23rd and he took Mom along. The official customers visits were on July 20 and 21 and they spend the other days touring Beijing as Mom was there before only for business and no sight-seeing.

It is good that Dad and Mom go out more often when they have the time and energy to do so.

As most first-time tourists to Beijing usually do, Dad and Mom went through the old strees, visited the Forbidden City, the Tien An Man Square, the Tien-Tan, North Sea Garden on the 19th; took 2 hours off of business visits on th 20th to the Bird's Nest and Water Cubic where the Olympics were held; climbed part of Great Wall and I-Her-Yuan (Empress Chi-Shi's private garden) on the 22nd.

The old streets of Beijin.

Next they went to Tien-Tan, where the emperors worshiped the Gods in the sky.

It is said that if you stand on this exact round spot and talks, you will be able to hear echos.

The next stop is the Forbidden City. As it was a Sunday and summer vacation, there were simply too many peope to take a good close view of anything. Not many photos were taken as the result of the crowd.

Right next to the Forbidden City is the Tien An Man Square. There were not many security now compared to early June as June 4th 2009 was the 20th year anniversary of the Tien An Man Square Massacre. Now it is full with tourists.

They ended the day's tour with the North Sea Garden. Mom loved the tress there. Standing next to the trees, you could not tell that it is over 36 degree celcius.
