Dad, Mom and Darway visited Singapore for 5 days and 4 nights after Chinese New Year (Feb. 6 to 10). Both Sandy and Yvonne had briefed them on the fun places to go and things to eat (Sandy took her 2 boys to Singapore just a week before). This will be the first time Darway re-visited Singapore since his high school graduation.
On the fourth day, they had a complementary cruise ride from the airline package. They also met up with Dad's former colleague to eat at China Town. As it was still consider Chinese New Year holiday, they had the special dish which was only available at that time. The waitress will add the ingredients one by one, saying lucky words and good wishes. Mom had to eat the durian again!! They walked around the river bank in the evening to see the beautiful Marina Sands.
The first night was the grand re-union of ex-Continental colleagues. It was also the first time Dad met up with the colleagues after he left Singapore 20 years ago. One colleague contacted another, finally more than 20 people showed up. They were all very happy to see their old boss. Most of them are still in banking and are now in the middle and upper management of various banks in Singapore.
Dad and Mom went to Little India on the second day, tasted the Indian food and visited the India temple. Of course they had to eat Mom's favorite durian.
In the afternoon, they rode on the Duck Tour which was a city tour in an amphibian vehicle with one driver on land and one captain in the water. The tour lasted for about one hour. It took the tourist to see the famous Merlion and the beautiful skyline of the city.
In the evening, they visited Night Safari where the tourists can really see the nocturnal animals up close. These animals are really active in the dark!
The third day is Sentosa Island day. Darway led Dad and Mom to various rides and shows inside Universal Studio (per recommendations from Sandy and Thomas!) They rode on the Jurassic Park ride, watched Shrek 4D movie and special affect demonstration, took picture with Marilyn Monroe, etc. They seemed to have a lot of fun!!! Mom's hair got all wet when they splashed downhill escaping the attack from REX (though they all wore raincoats)!
After Universal Studio, they visited the casino on Santosa, the Lake of Dreams and walked around the gardens to see the flowers. Darway also rode on the skyrides and the go-carts twice!!! Dad and Mom were tired and decided to sit and wait for him.

The trio departed from Singapore on the fifth mornining back to Taiwan, ending the enjoyable trip.
