The day before Mother's Day, Grandpa and Grandma drove Sandy, Thomas and Ryan to Miao-li to see the Tung Oil Tree (Aleurites Montana) blossom (油桐花). The blossom season starts in mid April and lasts till early May. In late April, the whole mountain will be white with the little blossoms. It is very pretty when the flowers start to fall to the ground, it is also called the "snow of summer".
However, this year the season ends a bit earlier. We only spotted several trees over 2 or 3 mountains.
We stopped by to eat 仙草餐. Dad drank the 仙草雞湯, we also ate 炸仙草, 仙草麵 and 仙草冰.
